Our History

BETTER TOGETHER - Situated in the heart of Elyria, Valley of the Eagles has been a beloved gathering spot for over a century. It's where families and friends have convened to create enduring memories during life's milestones, from baby showers, first birthdays, and graduations to proms, bridal showers, and weddings. We are honored to be the chosen legacy wedding venue for many families.

Our history dates back to the 1920s when we were known as the Spring Valley Country Club. In 2015, we embarked on a comprehensive transformation with Nicklaus Design. Rebranded as Valley of the Eagles Golf Course and Black River Tavern in 2018, we continued to evolve. In 2020, we proudly unveiled the Valley of the Eagles Event Center, becoming the backdrop for countless love stories and union ceremonies. We look forward to being a part of your special moments as we continue to create memories to last a lifetime.

From the beautiful decor this venue had to offer inside, to the spectacular layout outdoors, this place is breathtaking. What made this place even better was our day of venue coordinator, Candace! She is so so kind, patient, knowledgable, and overall the best coordinator one can ever ask for! When I danced too hard during the reception and cramped up, she made sure I was ok. Her team even was spectacular by setting up the decor and taking it all down towards the end of the night. If I had to do this again, 10000% would choose this venue over and over!!

    (2023) Candace the wedding planner made this event center 10/10. We held both our reception and ceremony at VOE. We ended up having a very rainy day and was the most accommodating to make an indoor ceremony as special as can be. We had a magical day that was filled with a very organized and smooth evening, everything we could have asked for. The location is on a golf course on the black river. Have various options for dinner and drinks. Also had amazing late night pizza! Great communication and meet ups in the months before. Large bridal suite and grooms hang out before the ceremony. They have an amazing array of decorations on site that are included in the overall price. Only outside vendors were DJ, cake and photography. Loved the whole package included almost everything.
